Leigh Steven is an abstract landscape artist based in Tasmania, Australia.
Leigh began painting when he was 15, painting Tasmanian landscapes.
A 48-year career in the surfing industry continues to this day. You can also see Leigh's hand-shaped surf craft on this blog.
In 1987 Leigh graduated as a mature-age student from the University of Tasmania School of Fine Art in Hobart, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Graphic Design.
He has been a Lecturer in Graphic Design at the University of Tasmania, and was Head of Art and Graphic Design at St Michael's Collegiate School, Hobart.
Selected as a finalist twice in the Glover Art Prize in Tasmania, Leigh continues to produce work inspired by his passion for the natural environment of Tasmania.
